Posting Policy

So, why a posting policy?

I had to get around to this sooner or later, right?

As I have stated previously, I am just getting my administrative stuff out of the way before I get to something more interesting. Please bear with me.

My posting policy will also be a part of the „About“ pages on my blogs on substack and ghost.io, so when this post inevitably descends into the bowels of my archives, the policy will remain evergreen.

So, why a posting policy?

Several simple reasons. I will try to keep the explanations short.

  1. To keep myself in check, in terms of my content and interaction with my followers, anyone who tries to follow me. I have no further intention expand any mental bandwidth online to anyone who wishes to argue in bad faith over anything I say.
  2. To keep the trolls, haters, et al in check, although I will entertain one or two if they might have a point. This is, of course, at my discretion
  3. As with any other online essay area, this is a safe space for my thoughts. You don’t have to agree with them, but, unless anything I provide publically will provide any kind of regionwide negative impact, you don’t get to shut me down over them.

So, with that out of the way, here is my posting policy. It will change as I see fit.

1. I tend to post on a wide range of topics, though I would hardly be considered an expert on any of them. Anything I consider to be non-political (such as most Eurovision happenings or the odd music review) will be seen publicly. Super personal (or as much as I feel like getting online, anyway) or most political content will be paid subscriber only.

2. All ability to natively comment on this blog is for paid subscribers only. Sorry folks, have no time for trolls or haters.

2a. Though I will make time for anyone willing to argue in good faith over something I said.

3. I plan on making YT videos with some of my essays. Those, of course, will be public.

4. I don’t respond to DMs unless I know you personally, follow you online, or you are one of my subscribers. I will also name and shame and report anyone who makes any kind of threat or insult over DM. So don’t even try.

5. I have the same policy on my IG as I do here - I don’t do promotions. Now that my IG is private, it won’t matter anyway, but this policy still stands. It might change in the future but until then, take your merchandise elsewhere.

6. Same with asking for help. GoFundMes are too easy to set up, and I tend to lean toward vetted organizations for donating my money for assistance.

That’s it.

I will probably add to this on my About page once I start posting more regularly. In the meantime, I am looking forward to entertaining/somewhat informing you all in the months and years to come. If you are a follower or subscriber, please feel free to provide any suggestions to make this policy more foolproof.

Enjoy.
